Give Your Rocks, Minerals & Lapidary Equipment a New Home
Sometimes a family member inherits a collection of rocks, minerals, or lapidary equipment that they simply don’t know what to do with. Other times, a collection you once enjoyed has been sitting untouched for years, taking up space and gathering dust.
Your collection could be valuable to someone else—and you can help support the Lubbock Gem and Mineral Society at the same time.
The Lubbock Gem and Mineral Society (LGMS) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Donations of qualifying items may be tax-deductible, providing you with a potential tax benefit while helping us promote the study and enjoyment of gems, minerals, geology, and the Earth sciences. Please consult your tax advisor regarding the deductibility and value of your donation.
We welcome donations such as:
-
Gem and mineral collections
-
Rocks and fossils
-
Lapidary tools and equipment
-
Jewelry-making and stone-working equipment
-
Books and educational materials about geology, gems, minerals, and lapidary arts
-
Field-collected specimens—including that bucket of "yard rocks" you've been meaning to do something with!
Rather than letting these items sit unused, give them a chance to be enjoyed, studied, collected, or put to work by someone who will appreciate them.
If you have a collection or equipment you'd like to donate, we'd be happy to talk with you about it and arrange a convenient time to pick up your items.
